New AI Tool for Learning Christian Church/Church of Christ Theology: Ask RENEW.org

Since January 2018, we have sought to prayerfully articulate the best of Christian Church/Church of Christ theology at RENEW.org…because we are convinced it represents the best of biblical theology. We also don’t think that we are somehow the arbiters of the best in Christian Church/Church Of Christ theology. We’re just doing our best to articulate it with a focus on relational disciple making for the next generation.

Now we’re thrilled to introduce a powerful new feature on our website: Ask RENEW.org—an AI-powered chat window that represents the best of what we have articulated in over seven years of daily blogs, forty books, over forty eBooks, and countless videos, podcasts, and teachings, etc.

Ask RENEW.org isn’t just another chatbot. It’s a trustworthy, fast way to get answers directly from RENEW.org resources. It is designed to help you, your church leaders, and your small group members find biblically rooted, RENEW.org-guided answers to your toughest faith questions.

A Conversational Window into RENEW.org’s Theological Library

What makes Ask RENEW.org truly unique is that it’s grounded in what RENEW.org has already published. This AI chat bot is restricted to already-written RENEW.org content. It does not connect to the entire internet, nor is it shaped by random content from unverified sources. Instead, it has been trained and shaped exclusively by:

  • The NIV translation of the Bible
  • All 80+ books/eBooks published by RENEW.org
  • Thousands of blogs, essays, and articles curated by our editorial director
  • Contributions from hundreds of thought leaders, ministers, elders, pastors, theologians, and disciple makers within our network

That’s a voluminous and carefully curated knowledge base, designed with clarity, conviction, and alignment in mind—representing the best of what we believe and teach at RENEW.org.

What You Can Expect from Ask RENEW.org

With Ask RENEW.org, you can type in your questions—whether they’re about baptism, end times, discipleship strategies, sexuality and gender, the reliability of Scripture, or what to do when someone leaves the church—and get a clear, concise response that aligns with the convictions of RENEW.org.

Here’s what Ask RENEW.org is designed to do:

  • Provide Biblically Anchored Answers: Grounded in the full counsel of Scripture and interpreted through the theological lens of our network.
  • Point You to Relevant Articles and Resources: It won’t just give a quick answer; it will suggest further reading from our extensive library of disciple making resources.
  • Reflect RENEW.org’s Voice: It doesn’t offer just any opinion. It faithfully represents what our organization believes and teaches, drawing only from our material.
  • Avoid Misinformation: Unlike some generic AI models, Ask RENEW.org is designed notto hallucinate (generate false or made-up answers). Because it only draws from our vetted content, it stays accurate, responsible, and on-mission.

For Disciple Making Practitioners, Not Tech Enthusiasts

This tool wasn’t built to impress Silicon Valley—it was built to help you, the everyday disciple maker.

If you’re a small group leader preparing for a study, a church leader fielding hard questions, or a curious believer wanting deeper insight into a topic, Ask RENEW.org is here to help. It’s like having trusted theology answers at your fingertips—24/7, without the jargon or guesswork.

And because it’s fast, it can help you prepare, respond, or learn in real-time—whether you’re in between meetings, prepping for a sermon, or just wrestling with a big question over your morning coffee.

What About the Concerns Around AI?

We understand. Many of our readers are cautious about AI—and rightly so. The last thing we want is to open the door to confusion or error. That’s why we’ve taken great care to limit Ask RENEW.org’s responses to our own trusted material. It doesn’t give the illusion of “thinking” like a person; rather it’s a curated way of accessing already-written answers and then pointing you to those resources for further study. It doesn’t have access to the wider web. It doesn’t make up new theology.

Think of it like a hyper-organized, interactive search bar—one that understands context, summarizes our material clearly, and offers you a coherent response based solely on what we’ve already said. It’s not inventing new answers; it’s curating our existing ones.

What About the Questions RENEW.org Has Not Yet Addressed?

There will be some limitations to Ask RENEW.org. We still have many topics and issues that we will address in the years ahead. Plus, there are glitches in any technology which we will continue to iron out when they arise.

Through our books and articles, we plan, by God’s grace, to address countless biblical and cultural topics in the years to come. The advantage is that we will be programing everything we create into Ask RENEW.org and the answers will be consistent with our faith statement.

A Tool for Our Mission: Making Disciples Who Make Disciples

At the end of the day, Ask RENEW.org is another tool to help you fulfill the Great Commission. Our hope is that this feature will remove barriers, save time, and offer clarity in a world where theological confusion is far too common.

It’s never a replacement for studying Scripture, having meaningful conversations, or praying for wisdom. But it is a resource that can help you find helpful answers to important questions.

So go ahead—ask it something. Try out a theological question you’ve been wondering about. Or test it with a pastoral concern you’ve heard. See how Ask RENEW.org can help you navigate those conversations with grace and truth.

We built it for you.

Check it out today…and share it with your church.

For King Jesus,

Bobby Harrington, Point Leader
Jason Henderson, Operations Leader
