Jay Austin has been married to Melissa for 28 years and has two sons, Isaiah, 23, and Josh, 21. Jay is the Family Discipleship Minister at Harpeth Christian Church in Franklin, Tennessee. He has a BS in Psychology from Middle Tennessee State University with a focus on Adolescent Development and an MA in Christian Education from the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. With over 30 years of ministry experience, Jay has served in the areas of Lead Teaching Pastorate, Executive and Discipleship Ministry, Student and Children’s Ministry, and Family Coaching. He has written curricula for Word Publishing, CCM Magazine, and other publishers. He has also served on the Board of Directors for Hearts 2 Honduras, establishing Christian education opportunities for underserved and special needs children. Jay has consulted and managed children’s and student ministry artists, including Randall Goodgame (Slugs and Bugs), Dr. Dan Bellamy (Inflatable Stories), Outcast BMX, Matt Adams, Brian Drake, Zak Mirzadeh, Rush of Fools, and others. He is a certified Youth, Parent, and Family Life Coach (CYPFC), and he is the author of the book, Your Child’s Journey – A Guide to Intentional Parenting from Birth to Adulthood, released in 2019.
