Death, Heaven, and Grief: 25+ Resources

Nobody goes looking for these pages on a good day. People arrive here because someone has died, or because a diagnosis has arrived, or because a question they have carried quietly for years has finally become urgent.

Scripture does not flinch from any of it. It calls death an enemy and promises that the enemy is already beaten. This page gathers RENEW.org's teaching on what happens when we die, what Scripture says about heaven and hell, and how to keep walking when grief is the ground under your feet.

01

What the Bible Says About Death

Why this matters: Much of what Christians assume about death comes from hymns and films rather than Scripture. These resources go back to the text.

02

Grief and the People We Lose

Why this matters: Grief is not a problem to be solved, and Christians are not required to hurry through it. These are written by people who have been in it.

03

Heaven and the New Creation

Why this matters: The Bible's hope is not disembodied souls on clouds. It is resurrection, and a new heavens and new earth. That difference changes what we are actually hoping for.

04

Hell and Judgment

Why this matters: On these topics, people are likely to have absorbed their beliefs from the surrounding culture rather than Scripture, and these issues also often used as a reason to walk away. These articles deserve a careful hearing.

05

When Death Raises Questions

Why this matters: Loss makes people ask things they have never asked out loud. These resources take the questions seriously rather than tidying them away.

06

Holding On When Life Is Hard

Why this matters: Between the loss and the hope there is a long stretch of ordinary days. These are for those.
