Following Jesus in an LGBTQ+ World Sermon Tools

If you are a preacher or teacher of the gospel, you probably agree that it’s important to lead your people to examine tough cultural topics through the lens of Scripture. And perhaps no topics today are as hard to navigate as sexuality and gender. How can we preach what the Bible teaches on these topics in ways that offer clarity and compassion? How do we help people embrace obey hard teachings and embrace hurt people?

To help you think through how to preach on these tough topics, we have put together a series of eight sermon outlines. The first four are written by Guy Hammond, author of Following Jesus in an LGBTQ+ World (to access the book, click HERE, and to access a documentary film of the same name, click HERE). The last four sermon outlines are written by other leaders within RENEW.org. They are written at different lengths with different styles, and likely some will resonate with your own preaching/teaching style more than others. All of these sermons face LGBTQ+ questions and issues from a biblical perspective.
