Cam Huxford --50 Years of Compassionate Hills to Live On

Cam Huxford built a church of 10,000 and he will close by helping us to see the connection between compassion and clarity.

We believe the Scriptures reveal three distinct elements of the faith: essentialimportant, and personal elements—and how they shape our faith and practice.

Essential Elements – The core truths necessary for salvation.

The gospel is essential. Everyone who has placed faith in Jesus and is sealed by the Holy Spirit is a brother or sister in Christ.

Important Elements – Vital to faithfully following Jesus.

These don’t determine salvation, but they help us live in obedience and truth.

Personal Elements – Matters of opinion or personal conviction.

These are areas where God gives freedom—but never at the expense of causing another to stumble.

DOES IT REALY MATTER WHAT YOU BELIEVE?

Yes. Faith is not just a feeling—it starts with believing certain truths about God and His Son, Jesus.
But belief alone isn’t enough. As James 2:17 reminds us:

“Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.”

WHY COME TO THE GATHERING?

We believe the core mission of the church is disciple making. Disciple making is entering into relationships to intentionally help people to follow Jesus, be changed by Jesus, and join the mission of Jesus.  We will spend significant time focusing on theology, but in the context of disciple making.

Additionally we will have major teaching tracks and classes on the practical implementation of disciple making strategies in the local church. We will teach people explicit ways and show them explicit tools that will enable them to be more effective.
