The power of one. In the midst of big picture leadership, vision casting, values instilling, and system building, we can lose sight of the power of one. Your model for equipping the church to be On Mission with Jesus can point people to the big vision while equipping them to discover their unique, God-given purpose in the body. We will explore a model that focuses on training disciples to be disciple makers through modeling their life after the disciplines of Jesus. “The student is not above the teacher, but everyone who is fully trained will be like their teacher.” – Luke 6:40

Track Session 1: Discipleship: Building a Culture, Not a Curriculum
Creating a discipleship culture in our churches is a nonnegotiable for believers. Too often, Christians fail to count the cost of engaging in God’s Kingdom work. Discipleship is long, sometimes difficult, but very rewarding process. Join us as we walk through a time, treasure, and talent cost/benefit analysis of real, Jesus-style discipleship, and the cost of not discipling at all.
Time: Wednesday, 2:15pm – 3:15pm
Location: C103
Speakers: Dan Leitz
Track Session 2: Fail to Plan, Plan to Fail
Discipling others requires intentionality and tenacity. The culture around us has many ways to discourage us from continuing in the difficult, and valuable, work of discipling others to maturity in Christ. While discipleship might often seem very organic, those who disciple with a plan and purpose regularly experience success. In this session, we will discuss ways we can help others grow.
Time: Thursday, 8:00am – 9:00am
Location: C103
Speakers: Sandy Mason
Track Session 3: Jesus Math
Jesus told us to go and make disciples, The indication was that we should make disciples, who make more disciples, who make many more disciples … you get the picture. Sadly, discipleship is countercultural in our society, and sometimes even in our churches. Our world is in need of disciplers who will help others to mature in their faith walk and change the culture. Join us as we look at the implications of our discipleship.
Time: Thursday, 11:00am – 12:00pm
Location: C103
Speakers: Cindy Perkins
Track Session 4: Worldwide Revolution
Ultimately, creating a discipling culture in our churches will lead to changed hearts, and a changed world. Transformation is ultimately the job of the Holy Spirit, but the Spirit uses his people as a part of that process. Our world is moving further away from God, and Christians have a God-given responsibility to make a difference in the lives of those God brings into their paths. World revolution starts with one. Join us to discuss how to inspire those around you to be part of the revolution.
Time: Thursday, 1:00pm – 2:00pm
Location: C103
Speakers: Jay Armstrong

Discipling Another Ministries Track — Discipleship That Works
The church is good at saving the lost but not keeping the saved. Eighty percent of those who begin following Jesus walk away from faithfulness in the first three months. With so many walking away soon after a profession of faith, a discipleship culture in a church should focus on “The First 90-days” strategy of disciplemaking. Come understand and experience disciplemaking that flips the 80% walk-away rate to 80% remaining faithful.

Track Session 1: The First 90 Days for New and Renewed Believers
There is a difference between foundational and formational disciplemaking. Not understanding this difference creates a faulty beginning for new followers of Jesus. This track defines and discusses foundational discipleship while asking this question, “If you were to disciple a new believer, knowing that 80% walk away in the first three months, would you know exactly what to do?”
Time: Wednesday, 2:15pm – 3:15pm
Location: B204
Speakers: Grant Edwards and Dr. Ron Braley

Sermons, Bible studies, books and more have been written about making disciples. Yet most believers are not engaged in this task. In addition to a clear vision and pathways from the Word, people in our churches need simple, Biblical, and reproducing tools in order to engage the harvest in their neighborhoods and beyond. This session will feature field tested low cost tools that any church can use or adapt for their contexts. Clear next steps and ongoing training will be offered as well.
Time: Thursday, 11:00am – 12:00pm

Track Session 4: A Culture of WIG Take
To reach cities and complete regions for Jesus, we need to develop a “What’s It Going to Take” mindset as leaders and guide the people of our churches to do the same. The development of that culture demands seeking Jesus like never before and laying down our lives in absolute surrender. It also involves ongoing teaming, training, and coaching of the church to initiate disciple making movements in our cities and beyond. This session will help you see the scope and sequence of this WIG Take mentality and provide next steps to grow in this area.

Renew Movement — Becoming Church-Planting Churches
Every church in America is just one decision away from becoming a church-planting church.
Yet studies show that less than 7% of churches in the US are reproducing. What gives?
Come to this vibrant Q&A session to converse with church planting leaders about common factors that play into churches not planting and simple options your church could use to get in the game (if it’s been a while) or turn up the gain (if you want to plant more).
The stark reality is that with 93% of churches not reproducing, the Church in the US is losing ground. Lostness in our nation is increasing, and we are not on a path toward Gospel saturation. We desperately need a movement of churches committed to healthy reproduction that is capable of producing multiplication. We need more disciples that make disciples who plant church that plant churches.

Track Session 1: Why We Are Scientifically Wired to Get Beyond the Group Setting
Why is it that when only two of us are sitting in a restaurant booth, there is a certain sense of close connectivity that uniquely happens without a third party? The answer is that we are engineered to experience various levels of closeness in different relational settings. Jesus demonstrated that disciple-making takes place in all kinds of settings — group, micro-group (3-4 people), and one-to-one. It’s the one-to-one that often gets left out in disciple-making and an invaluable relational dimension is lost. This session will focus on the necessity, the power, and the strategy of including the one-to-one level in disciple-making

Track Session 2: To Create a Disciple-Making Culture, We’ve Got to Get Everyday People in the Game … and Here’s How
The disciple-making challenge of the Great Commission has no exemptions — every Christ follower is included. But how do we make this a reality in our local church where Truck Driver Ted and Soccer Mom Sally, everyday people, are confident to make disciples? The responsibility falls to leaders to equip — that is, to provide equipment. The only way to create a culture of disciple-making in your local church is if you have a strategy that includes Ted and Sally, everyday people. This session provides real tools (printed and mobile app) specifically designed for the everyday person to be involved in disciple-making at an in-depth level. The great thing is that you can download these tools at no charge and you’ll be equipped to launch them right away.
Time: Thursday, 8:00am – 9:00am
Location: C101/102
Speakers: Steve McCoy
Track Session 3: Getting Beyond Information Transfer When Using Tools
Human beings absorb truth in many more ways than merely hearing or reading. A disciple is not made through information transfer. No one knew this better than Jesus. For example, imagine integrating real life experiences (we call them labs) in disciple-making like Jesus did when he asked Peter to get out of the boat. Do you think Peter ever forgot that experience? You will walk out of this session with a broad collection of real-life labs that you can build into your disciple-making experience. These labs will lift your disciple-making way beyond information transfer.
Time: Thursday, 11:00am – 12:00pm
Location: C101/102
Speakers: Steve McCoy
Track Session 4: High Tech, High Touch … Featuring the SmallCircle App
The smallcircle mobile and web app is listed on the Top 10 list of digital tools by discipleship.org. Using technology can enhance a number of levels in disciple-making. This session will unfold the smallcircle app which is making impact around the world. The smallcircle app is a free download and can be found on both the Google and Apple stores. Find out how technology can be a strong asset in every disciple-making setting. If possible, it would be an advantage to download the app before the session. Search for “smallcircle” in the app stores.
Time: Thursday, 1:00pm – 2:00pm
